6/13/2016 Syracuse Chiefs 1, Louisville Bats 7

Louisville Slugger Field, Louisville, KY
Game 1 of 3

Game time for Chihiro and "the old goat"...

...later, we joined the rest of our squad in 219...HOLLER

SYR SS and Washington Nationals' hot prospect Trea Turner faces LOU RHP Cody Reed

LOU SS Jose Peraza (IT ME) vs. SYR RHP Jaron Long (who wasn't long in this game, if you know what I mean)

LOU 2B Carlos Triunfel against SYR RHP Sam Runion

Turner vs. Reed again, from 219 this time...

LOU RF Scott Schebler, who started the season with the Reds out of Spring Training, faces SYR LHP Aaron Laffey

Former Mets prospect CF Matt Den Dekker faces rehabbing RHP Michael Lorenzen in the 7th

You never know what you're going to see here...today, I saw former Cubs legend Tony Campana, pinch-hitting for the Chiefs...unfortunately, he struck out swinging for the 2nd out of the 8th inning against LOU RHP Chad Rogers, so his blinding speed would not be on display. Somewhere, a thousand Angels cry.

With the Chiefs down 7-1 in the 8th, here's Trea Turner's last chance to break open the game with 2 outs and start a rally...he got his first hit of the the day, but was stranded by Steve Lombardozzi to end the inning

In the Mystery Rookie Card game, I drew an unlikely candidate for best worst card pull ever...this 2010 Topps Domonic Brown RC
There's only one special kind of card that could beat the greatness of Bumonic Clown...and wouldn't you know it, Chihiro pulls it...not only is it familiar to me, as I've pulled it in the past, but it bears mentioning this klassic game from nearly 5 years ago that she just happened to be at...and Brown was there, too...

5/30/2016 Toledo Mud Hens 2, Louisville Bats 3

Louisville Slugger Field, Louisville, KY
Game 1 of 4

Celebrating my daughter Kei's birthday at the game...where else?
Also, a great day for an exciting come-from-behind 9th inning win.

SCOREKEEPER'S NOTE: Most folks know that I make it a point to identify broken bats (BLS, for Broken Louisville Slugger) on my scoresheets...most also know that when bats leave the careful hands of boys in the batters box, those are identified as FLS (Flying Louisville Slugger).
Interesting to point out here that this is one of the first times that I recall 2 consecutive FLS in one at bat...and most definitely the only time an at-bat has ended in an FLS strikeout.

TOL DH Jason Krizan faces LOU RHP Anthony DeSclafini in the 3rd...

...Krizan homers

Former Mets star-for-a-fleeting-moment 2B Jordany Valdespin faces DeSclafini

LOU RF Kyle Waldrop grounds out to 1B against TOL RHP Dustin Molleken

TOL 1B Chad Huffman vs. LOU RHP Stephen Johnson

Erstwhile MLB Legend 3B Casey McGeehee faces LOU RHP Drew Hayes in the 7th, strikes out to end the inning after seeing 9 pitches

LOU 1B Brandon Allen against RHP Bruce Rondon...Allen's lead-off single started the rally that LOU needed to start this series with a WIN...

Today's Mystery Rookie Card Game was a blur, as there were so many participants...what matters to me, is that I won it all with this novel 2004 Bowman Heritage Bill Bray RC...all Hailz to the Bionic Man...
This card wasn't a Mystery Rookie Card pull...his greatness smiled upon me from inside the case, so I decided to pick him up and enshrine this in my own Hall of Fame...
